Background

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has authorized an expansion of production under zone procedures at the Canon Virginia Inc. facility within subzone 20D in Newport News, Va. Canon already had authority to produce a range of printers, copiers and their parts and supplies, including toner, toner cartridges, toner bottles and cartridge parts, at this facility, and the new authorization adds carbon black and aluminum flanges to the scope of authority.

The FTZ Board has also authorized an expansion of production under zone procedure at the Samsung Austin Semiconductor LLC facility within subzone 183B in Austin, Texas. Samsung already had authority to produce semiconductor memory devices for export at this facility, and the new authorization adds foreign-status hexamethyldisilazane to the scope of authority.
