The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has approved production under zone procedures at the CNH Industrial America LLC facilities within subzone 41I in Racine, Wis. CNH already had authority to produce agricultural tractors and tractor components, cabs, transmissions, axles, valves and valve assemblies, gear boxes for combines, and final drives for combines within this subzone, and the FTZ Board has now added to the scope of authority the production of certain four-wheel drive axle subassemblies, planetary carrier assemblies, non-driving planetary carrier assemblies, pinion assemblies with differentials, and engine-powered wheel drive axle assemblies.
The FTZ Board has received from the Clinton County Area Development Corporation, grantee of FTZ 54, a notification of proposed production activity at the Swarovski Lighting Ltd. facility in Plattsburgh, N.Y., which is used to make custom lighting fixtures and related parts. The request indicates that foreign textile material (including netting classified within HTSUS subheading 5408.10) will be admitted to the zone in privileged foreign status, thereby precluding inverted tariff benefits on this material. Comments on this notification are due no later than July 8.
The FTZ Board has received from the Findlay Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, grantee of FTZ 151, an application requesting authority to reorganize this zone and expand its service area under the alternative site framework. The zone currently has a service area that includes Hardin, Putnam, Seneca, Allen and Hancock counties in Ohio, and the applicant is now requesting authority to also include Van Wert County, adjacent to the Toledo-Sandusky U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry. Comments on this request are due no later than July 28.
