The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received an application from the County of Oneida, N.Y., grantee of FTZ 172, requesting authority to reorganize and expand this zone under the alternative site framework. The proposed service area under the ASF would be Oneida County, within and adjacent to the Syracuse, N.Y., U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry. If this request is approved the grantee would be able to serve sites throughout the service area based on companies’ needs for FTZ designation. Comments on this request are due no later than June 14.
The FTZ Board has received from the City of Waterville, Maine, grantee of FTZ 186, a notification of proposed production activity at the Flemish Master Weavers facility in Sanford, Maine, which is used for the production of area rugs using polypropylene and polyester yarns. Comments on this notification are due no later than May 25. A separate application for subzone designation at this facility has been submitted.
