The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from the Louisville and Jefferson County Riverport Authority, grantee of FTZ 29, a request for subzone status for the United Parcel Service Inc. facility in Louisville, Ky. No authorization for production activity has been requested at this time. Comments on this request are due no later than Nov. 14.

The FTZ Board has authorized on a limited basis production under zone procedures at the Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. facility in Mission, Texas, which will be used for the manufacture and assembly of cordless indoor and outdoor power tools and power tool components (batteries, plastic injection molded parts, cordless motors, and certain subassemblies) and the packaging and kitting of power tools with their components. This authorization is subject to a restriction requiring that lithium-ion batteries and related components (lithium-ion cells, assembly housings, cell holders, front insert covers, cover housings, and latches) be admitted to the zone in privileged foreign status.
