The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from the City of Memphis, Tenn., grantee of FTZ 77, a request to expand subzone 77E at the Cummins Inc. facilities in Memphis. No authorization for production activity has been requested at this time. Comments on this request are due no later than Oct. 20.
The FTZ Board has received from the City of Conroe, Texas, grantee of FTZ 265, a notification of proposed production activity at the Bauer Manufacturing Inc. facility in Conroe. Bauer already has authority to produce pile drivers and leads, boring machinery, foundation construction equipment, foundation casings, related parts and sub-assemblies, and tools and accessories for pile drivers and boring machinery within site 1 of FTZ 265, and the current request would add new finished products (stationary oil/gas drilling rigs and related subassemblies) and foreign-status materials and components to the scope of authority. Inputs included in textile category 229 (classified under HTSUS subheading 5806.31) would be admitted to the zone in privileged foreign status, thereby precluding inverted tariff benefits on such items. Comments on this notification are due no later than Oct. 20.
