Pharmaceuticals. The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has approved a new production activity at the Lilly Del Caribe Inc. facilities within subzone 7K in Carolina and Guayama, Puerto Rico. Lilly already had authority to produce finished pharmaceuticals and their intermediates, including the active ingredients humalog and duloxetine, at these facilities and the new request adds new finished products and foreign-status materials and components to the scope of authority.

Printing Plates. The FTZ Board has received from the KOM Foreign Trade Zone Authority, grantee of FTZ 189, a notification of proposed production activity at the Southern Lithoplate Inc. facility within site 10 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. SLP already has authority to produce aluminum offset printing plates for the printing industry at this facility and the current request would add foreign status materials/components for photographic purposes to the scope of authority. These materials/components include organic dyes, photoinitiators, photosensitizing dyes, polymers, triazine photoinitiators, pigments in solvent, acrylate polymers in solvent, novolak polymers in solvent, anion surfactants, emulsifiers in water, acrylate monomers, acrylic polymers, polyvinyl alcohols, acrylate oligomers in solvent, emulsifiers, polyvinylphenol and carboxymethyl cellulose (duty rate ranges from free to 6.5 percent). Comments on this request are due by Aug. 22.
