Background

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has authorized the reorganization and expansion of FTZ 193, which will now have a service area of Pinellas, Hernando, and Pasco counties in Florida, in and adjacent to the St. Petersburg U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry. Existing sites 1, 2, and 3 will be categorized as magnet sites, but authority for sites 2 and 3 will terminate if not activated within five years. The zone will also have four initial usage-driven sites, but authority for these sites will terminate if no foreign-status goods are admitted for a bona fide customs purpose within three years.
