Background

The Bureau of Industry and Security has issued an order suspending for ten years the export privileges of a man convicted of knowingly and willfully exporting satellite communication equipment, navigation equipment and related goods to persons in third countries with the knowledge that those goods were intended for supply, transshipment and reexporation to Iran. This man was previously sentenced to one year and one day of imprisonment.

As a result, until June 21, 2023, neither this man nor anyone on his behalf may directly or indirectly participate in any way in any transaction involving any commodity, software or technology exported or to be exported from the U.S. that is subject to the Export Administration Regulations. BIS is also revoking all export licenses in which this man had an interest at the time of his conviction.
