The Bureau of Industry and Security is accepting comments through Dec. 20 on the proposed extension of information collections concerning export license transfer and duplicate export license services.
Section 750.9 of the Export Administration Regulation outlines the process for obtaining a duplicate export license when a license is lost or destroyed, while section 750.10 explains the procedure for transfer of ownership of validated export licenses. Both activities are services provided after the license approval process.
When a request to transfer a license is received, BIS reviews the proposed transfer and, if approved, submits a validated letter authorizing the transfer of ownership. When a request for a duplicate license is received, the original is found in the Export Control Automated Support System, which then issues the duplicate. The request for a duplicate license is a written submission but the output is electronic.
