The Bureau of Industry and Security’s Regulations and Procedures Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting June 14 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS on implementation of the Export Administration Regulations and provides for continuing review to update the EAR as needed. The public session of the upcoming meeting will include updates on export enforcement, regulations and the Automated Export System as well as working group reports.
The BIS’ Emerging Technology and Research Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting June 9 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS on emerging technology and research activities, including those related to deemed exports. The public session of the upcoming meeting will include an update on export control reform, a presentation on category 1C toxins, and discussion of issues such as atom-based sensing, the International Summit on Human Gene Editing, nanotechnology, ECCN 4E001.e, sanctions and the scientific community, Russia, and emerging technology issues at recent events.
The open session of each meeting will be accessible via teleconference to 25 participants on a first come, first served basis, and requests to participate in this manner must be submitted by June 2 (ETRAC) or June 7 (RPTAC). In addition, a limited number of seats will be available at each public session, but reservations are not accepted.
