Background

The Department of State is temporarily lowering to $500 the annual registration fees charged to persons who engage in the U.S. in the business of manufacturing, exporting, or temporarily importing defense articles; furnishing defense services; or brokering activities pursuant to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. This reduction, which is intended to help mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 public health emergency on the U.S. defense industrial base, was effective May 1, 2020, and will expire April 30, 2021.
