The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements has received a short supply request alleging that certain men’s cotton shirting fabrics are not available in commercial quantities in a timely manner from suppliers in Colombia. The petitioner is requesting that these fabrics be added to the short supply list in Annex 3-B of the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement in unrestricted quantity, which would allow duty-free imports of apparel made in Colombia with these fabrics. Responses with an offer to supply these fabrics are due no later than Aug. 5.
The fabrics at issue are woven fabrics of combed cotton yarns, of 85 percent or more by weight of cotton, of yarn count of 60 nm or higher, of various constructions and finishes, suitable for use in the production of men’s and boys’ shirts and similar apparel. They are classifiable under HTSUS subheadings 5208.22, 5208.29, 5208.32, 5208.33, 5208.39, 5208.42, 5208.43, 5208.49 and 5208.52.
