U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced that effective July 10 entry personnel that perform entry functions such as collections, statement processing, broker management, etc., transitioned to the Centers of Excellence and Expertise. Organizationally, these personnel fall under the Center directors, who are operationally responsible for performing trade processing functions and making entry summary determinations within their industry sector.

CBP states that entry personnel will continue to support local-based processes such as collections and broker management and that the trade community may contact personnel located at the port. In addition, the submission of entry documentation remains the same and traders should continue to use existing electronic methods of submission (such as the Automated Commercial Environment) or, if necessary, submit in paper at the port.
