The National Maritime Security Advisory Committee will hold an open meeting April 25-26 in Norfolk, Va., to review, discuss, and formulate recommendations on a number of issues, including the following.
- U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s efforts to implement non-intrusive inspection in U.S. ports
- the increased use of unmanned aerial vehicles within ports and the need to provide guidance on how to identify and report potential suspicious activity associated with these vehicles
- the development of an extremely hazardous cargo strategy implementation plan
- efforts to implement cyber security strategies
- regulatory efforts
This meeting will also be broadcast online and via teleconference. Comments for discussion at this meeting are due no later than April 20.
