The International Trade Administration is accepting comments through Oct. 23 on the foreign-trade zone annual report, which is submitted electronically by FTZ grantees. These reports are the only complete source of compiled information on international trade activity in FTZs and are used (1) by Congress and the ITA to determine the economic effect of the FTZ program, (2) by the FTZ Board and other trade policy officials to determine whether zone activity is consistent with U.S. international trade policy and is in the public interest, (3) by the public to evaluate the effectiveness of activities carried out in FTZs on industry sectors, and (4) by zone grantees in their marketing efforts.
