Background

The Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has established an automatic notification system that alerts interested stakeholders when country-specific requirements for the export of live animals and animal products change. These messages will include a link to the APHIS website for more information about the specific change and the country it applies to.

APHIS states that it maintains information on the requirements of receiving countries to assist U.S. exporters and help facilitate trade. Countries may change their requirements at any time and without advance notice. APHIS notes that while this notification system will be used to share any updates it is aware of, in some instances countries may change their requirements without alerting APHIS.

Information about recent changes to country requirements for animals and animal products is also available on the APHIS website.
