The Department of Energy is accepting through May 12 information from the public to help it determine whether amended energy conservation standards for residential clothes dryers would result in a significant amount of additional energy savings and whether those standards would be technologically feasible and economically justified. DOE is required by law to publish by Aug. 24, 2017, a notice proposing to amend these standards or stating that the existing standards do not need to be amended.
