U.S. Customs and Border Protection has rescheduled from Sept. 16 to Dec. 9 the Automated Commercial Environment deployment of the electronic foreign-trade zone application (e214) and manufacturer identification creation capabilities. CBP attributes this delay to concerns expressed by the trade community for businesses managing a transition to this functionality during the ongoing “aggressive” 2017 hurricane season.
As a result of this change, the updated ACE deployment schedule is as follows.
- Sept. 16: non-ABI entry summary (for CBP only), duty deferral, and importer security filing
- Dec. 9: statements, e214, and MID creation
- Feb. 24: reconciliation, ACE core drawback and Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act drawback, liquidation, and Automated Surety Interface
