Trade Policy

For more than 30 years, ST&R’s professionals have been in the forefront of trade policy development. U.S. Presidents and Cabinet-level officials have appointed members of our staff to leading international trade positions, committees and organizations responsible for advising the U.S. Government on customs policy and other critical trade-related matters. Our attorneys and trade advisors also play strategic roles in shaping the nation’s homeland security initiatives, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.

ST&R’s trade negotiations team regularly assists clients in new and emerging areas of trade policy, such as corporate social responsibility initiatives, supply chain security objectives, and labor and environmental policies. We offer comprehensive legal counsel and strategic consulting services on matters that are currently before the WTO, the World Customs Organization, and U.S. and foreign government agencies.
