BILAL HASSAN is an associate attorney with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Houston office.

Mr. Hassan represents a diverse set of clients on import/export controls before administrative agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Department of Commerce, and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as in federal court. His experience on the import side includes product classification; enforcement matters such as prior disclosures, CF-28s and CF-29s, detentions and seizures, and CBP audits; trade remedy evasion investigations under the Enforce and Protect Act; and import compliance procedures. With respect to export controls, he counsels clients on issues involving export and Schedule B-related classifications.

Prior to joining ST&R Mr. Hassan served as an associate in a Houston-based firm. He holds a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and a B.A. in political science from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the bar in Texas and an active member of the American Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, the Houston Customs Broker and Freight Forwarder Association, and the Houston Young Lawyer’s Association.
