Certified Customs Specialist
KELLI R. THOMPSON is a Senior Trade Advisor for Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Miami office. A licensed customs broker and certified customs specialist, she has both public and private sector experience in classification, valuation, rules of origin, free trade agreements, drawback, intellectual property rights, and other customs and trade issues.
Prior to joining ST&R, Ms. Thompson served as a Customs Advisor for the Treasury Department Office for Technical Assistance, working with foreign customs administrations to improve trade facilitation by advising them on policies, regulations, and operations. Earlier in her career she founded her own trade consulting firm that served clients from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. She also served for nearly seven years with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, rising from Import Specialist to Supervisory Import Specialist. In this role she also trained newly hired import specialists nationally.
Ms. Thompson holds a master’s degree in management from North Park University and a bachelor’s degree in health promotion and education from the University of Cincinnati.
