JARED P. HOLLETT is an Associate with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the San Francisco office, and a member of its Export Controls & Sanctions Practice. He focuses his practice on the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations, along with the sanctions regulations administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Mr. Hollett regularly advises on export licensing strategies and exceptions as well as the development of export management and compliance programs and technology control plans, and he is well-versed in program reviews, audits, and voluntary self-disclosures. His work includes analyzing items and services for export classification purposes, submitting commodity classification and commodity jurisdiction requests, preparing complex export license applications (including technical assistance agreements, manufacturing license agreements, permanent and temporary export license applications, and all ancillary documentation), and submitting proviso reconsideration requests when approved licenses contain restrictions that prohibit or significantly hamper the client’s ability to perform.
Prior to joining ST&R Mr. Hollett was in private practice. He previously worked for an aerospace and defense contractor advising on export compliance and licensing both in the U.S. and abroad.
Mr. Hollett holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. in English and political science from the State University of New York – Geneseo. He also completed a specialized course on the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
Mr. Hollett Co-Chairs the Barristers International Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco. He is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco, the New York state bar, the New York City Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Customs and International Trade Bar Association. He is the co-author of Export Controls and Economic Sanctions: 2014, Vol. 49 ABA/SIL YIR. (Spring 2015).
