Steel and Aluminum Provisions in the USMCA
The soon-to-be-implemented U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement includes significant changes to trade rules regarding steel and steel products as well as some new rules regarding aluminum. A great deal of attention has been given to the new requirements for North American steel and aluminum in automobiles, but the agreement also mandates substantial changes for diverse steel and steel-containing products, including iron and steel structures, stranded wire, welded tubes, nails, electrical transformers and railway components.
