Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

U.S. and Mexican customs authorities have announced that the processing of empty tractors and tractor trailers for both import and export through the World Trade Bridge between Laredo, Texas, and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, resumed as of 1600 hours on May 23. However, the bridge is expected to remain closed to other commercial traffic until May 29 to allow time for cleanup, repairs, and the restoration of services after a recent storm caused substantial damages to customs facilities on both sides of the border. In the meantime, commercial traffic is being rerouted to the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge, where U.S. Customs and Border Protection is beginning operations one hour earlier as of May 23.
