Tariff Offsets. The Tariff Tax Credit Act (S. 2697, introduced Oct. 24 by Sen. Scott, R-Fla.) would establish a refundable tax credit to return revenue raised from Section 301 tariffs on imports from China to U.S. taxpayers. This credit could be claimed beginning April 15, 2020.

CBP Staffing. The Senate has approved the Protecting America’s Food and Agriculture Act (S. 2107), which would authorize U.S. Customs and Border Protection to add 240 new agriculture specialists, 200 new agriculture technicians, and 20 new agriculture canine teams.
