FMC to Host Oct. 30 Forum in Charleston on Challenges Facing South Atlantic Ports

The Federal Maritime Commissioner will hold a forum Oct. 30 in Charleston, S.C., on the challenges facing South Atlantic ports. Topics for discussion may include innovative ways to address port congestion, address infrastructure needs and challenges, increase chassis use and efficiency, promote global trade and increase international supply chain efficiency. The FMC is inviting participation from all those who represent South Atlantic ports’ interests and are involved in international trade and transportation in the region, including government officials, port authority representatives, truckers, terminal operators, steamship lines, chassis operators/lessors/pools, ocean transportation intermediaries, cargo owners and labor representatives.
