Import Restrictions on Poultry, Other Bird Products from Uganda and Zimbabwe

The Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has added Uganda and Zimbabwe to the list of regions affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza following confirmed outbreaks in these countries. This action follows APHIS’ imposition earlier this year of restrictions on the importation of poultry, commercial birds, other types of birds (research, performing), ratites, any avian hatching eggs, unprocessed avian products and byproducts, and certain fresh poultry products from Uganda and Zimbabwe.
