Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The International Trade Commission has terminated investigation 337-TA-1000 of motorized self-balancing vehicles with respect to one respondent based on a consent order and settlement agreement with complainants Razor USA LLC, Inventist Inc., and Shane Chen.

The items at issue in this investigation are hoverboards, two-wheeled motorized vehicles that resemble skateboards. The complainants have alleged that the importation, sale for importation, and sale within the U.S. after importation of these items are violating section 337 of the 1930 Tariff Act by reason of patent infringement, false advertising, misrepresentation, and unfair competition. They are therefore seeking the issuance of an exclusion order and cease and desist orders.
