Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

Microfluidic Devices. The International Trade Commission has terminated patent infringement investigation 337-TA-1068 of microfluidic devices with respect to certain patent claims based on a motion to do so by complainants Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. and Lawrence Livermore National Security LLC.

UV-Curable Coatings. In investigation 337-TA-1031 the presiding administrative law judge has found that the importation, sale for importation, and sale in the U.S. after importation of UV-curable coatings for optical fibers, coated optical fibers, and products containing same are violating patents asserted by DSM Desotech Inc. and DSM IP Assets B.V. The ALJ has recommended the issuance of a limited exclusion order and a bond of 40 percent of entered value during the 60-day presidential review period. The ITC is reviewing various aspects of the ALJ’s initial determination.
