Export Controls on Information Systems to be Discussed at BIS Meeting

The Bureau of Industry and Security’s Information Systems Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting July 25-26 in San Diego, Calif. This committee advises BIS on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to information systems equipment and technology.

The open session of the upcoming meeting will include working group reports, updates on Top500 and the practitioner’s guide to APP, and discussions of digital TV, industry proposals for the Wassenaar Arrangement, and trends and tools in hacking. This session will be accessible via teleconference to 20 participants on a first come, first served basis, and requests to join the conference are due by July 18. In addition, a limited number of seats will be available at the public session but reservations are not accepted.
