IPR Enforcement: Hoverboards, Mobile Device Holders, Portable Electronic Devices

Hoverboards. In false advertising, misrepresentation, and unfair competition investigation 337-TA-1000 of motorized self-balancing vehicles, the International Trade Commission has affirmed a finding of no violation of section 337. As a result, the ITC has terminated this investigation without the imposition of import restrictions.

Mobile Device Holders. The ITC has terminated from patent infringement investigation 337-TA-1028 of mobile device holders and components thereof all asserted claims of two patents asserted by complainant Nite Ize Inc.

Portable Electronic Devices. The ITC has extended to March 12, 2018, the target date for completing patent infringement investigations 337-TA-990 and -1004 of mobile and portable electronic devices incorporating haptics (including smartphones and laptops) and components thereof.
