Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

Garment Hangers. The International Trade Administration has continued the antidumping duty orders on steel wire garment hangers from China and Vietnam for five years, effective May 31. U.S. Customs and Border Protection will continue to collect AD cash deposits on all imports of such goods at the rates in effect at the time of entry.

Large Power Transformers. In the preliminary results of its changed circumstances review of the AD duty order on large power transformers from Korea, the ITA has determined that Hyundai Electric & Energy Systems Co. Ltd. is the successor-in-interest to Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. and that HHI’s current cash deposit rate is the rate applicable for all entries of subject goods exported by HEES. The ITA also preliminarily determines that the unique facts of this review warrant the retroactive application of the cash deposit rate to the effective date of the first entry by HEES.
