Imports of Figs and Pomegranates from Peru Authorized

Effective Aug. 10, the Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has authorized the importation of fresh figs and fresh pomegranates from Peru into the continental U.S. subject to all of the following phytosanitary measures.

- imported as commercial consignments only

- each consignment must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the national plant protection organization of Peru

- each consignment must be treated in accordance with 7 CFR part 305

- each consignment is subject to inspection upon arrival at the port of entry to the U.S.
