Export Regulations, Trade Finance Committees to Meet

Export Regulations Meeting. The Bureau of Industry and Security’s Regulations and Procedures Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting April 2 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS on implementation of the Export Administration Regulations and provides for continuing review to update the EAR as needed.

The public session of the upcoming meeting will include updates on export enforcement, regulations, and the Automated Export System as well as reports from committee working groups. Those wishing to attend this session must notify BIS no later than March 26.

Trade Finance Meeting. The Department of Commerce’s Trade Finance Advisory Council will hold an open meeting March 27 in Washington, D.C. This council advises the DOC on policy matters relating to access to trade finance for U.S. exporters, including small and medium-sized enterprises, and their foreign buyers.

At the upcoming meeting council members will discuss with officials from the DOC and other agencies current challenges and opportunities to increase access to export financing resources for U.S. exporters. They will also establish priorities, subcommittee structures, and milestones for the successful development of recommendations. Those wishing to attend this meeting must notify the DOC by March 22.
