Export Committee on Materials to Meet Nov. 14

The Bureau of Industry and Security’s Materials Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting Nov. 14 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises BIS with respect to technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to materials and related technology.

The open session of the upcoming meeting will include remarks from BIS senior management, an update on export control reform efforts, a presentation on the challenges that license conditions can bring and a discussion of recent efforts to make conditions more industry friendly, feedback on the recent federal government shutdown, a report on regime-based activities, and reports from the Composite Working Group and the Biological and Pump/Valves Working Group. This session will be accessible via teleconference to 20 participants on a first come, first served basis, and requests to participate in this manner are due no later than Nov. 7. In addition, a limited number of seats will be available at this session, but reservations are not accepted.
