Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Department of Energy is adopting new energy conservation standards for dedicated-purpose pool pumps after having concluded that these standards represent the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible and economically justified and would result in significant conservation of energy. This direct final rule will be effective as of May 18 (unless adverse comments are received by May 8) but compliance will only be required for covered products manufactured in or imported into the U.S. on and after July 19, 2021.

Dedicated-purpose pool pumps include self-priming pool filter pumps, non-self-priming pool filter pumps, waterfall pumps, pressure cleaner booster pumps, integral sand filter pool pumps, integral cartridge filter pool pumps, storable electric spa pumps, and rigid electric spa pumps.
