Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

Effective Jan. 17, the Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has added the Philippines to the list of regions considered to be affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza. This action follows APHIS’ Aug. 16, 2017, imposition of HPAI-related restrictions on imports of poultry, commercial birds, other types of birds (research, performing), ratites, avian hatching eggs, unprocessed avian products and byproducts, and certain fresh poultry products originating from or transiting the Philippines as a result of the confirmation of HPAI in that country.
