The Federal Maritime Commission announced Aug. 2 the launch of its new eAgreements system, which it says is “a more efficient option” for filing, review and publication of agreements involving vessel-operating common carriers and marine terminal operators. The FMC states that benefits of the new system include instant confirmation receipt for filing agreements; the elimination of paper, postage and courier costs; and faster publication of filed agreements on the FMC website.

The eAgreements system is available 24/7. Users must first visit the login page and register for a unique user name and password. Once registration is complete, filers can access the system to file new agreements as well as amendments to existing agreements. Filers are also able to make filing fee payments electronically.
