Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service has withdrawn a proposed rule that would have changed the reporting of export certificate information for exports of apples and grapes. These changes were intended to support the International Trade Data System and enable AMS to track apple and grape exports to ensure they meet inspection and certification requirements. AMS states that in light of various concerns raised by commenters it intends to conduct outreach with export industry stakeholders and consider other compliance monitoring activities as it reconsiders whether changes will be proposed in the future.
