Animal and Poultry Import Information Collections Under Review

Wednesday, January 02, 2019
Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is accepting comments through Feb. 25 on the reinstatement of information collections associated with the prohibited, restricted, and controlled importation of animal and poultry products and by-products. These include certificates, applications, agreements, appeals and cancellations of agreements, placards and statements, permissions to import, reports, notifications, government seals, and marking requirements. Comments should address whether these collections are necessary for the proper performance of APHIS functions; ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and how to minimize the burden of the collections on those who are to respond (e.g., by permitting electronic submission of responses).
