USDA Sets 2018 Rates for Meat, Poultry, and Egg Inspection, Certification, and Lab Services
The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced the rates it will charge meat and poultry establishments, egg products plants, and importers and exporters in 2018 for providing voluntary, overtime, and holiday inspection and identification, certification, and laboratory services. The 2018 rates will be applied beginning Jan. 21 and are as follows (per hour/per employee).
- basetime: $57.52 (up from $55.84)
- overtime: $72.24 (up from $70.28)
- holiday: $86.88 (up from $84.72)
- laboratory: $73.20 (up from $71.72)
