WTO Complaint Filed Against U.S. CV Duties on Pipe and Tube Products from Turkey
Turkey has initiated a World Trade Organization dispute settlement case against the countervailing duties imposed by the U.S. on imports of certain pipe and tube products. Turkey alleges that certain substantive and methodological aspects of the determination and the imposition of the CV duties are inconsistent with the WTO’s Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994. A request for consultations is the first step in the WTO dispute settlement process. If talks do not resolve the matter within 60 days, Turkey may ask the WTO to establish a dispute settlement panel.
