Background

The International Trade Administration’s Trade Finance Advisory Council will hold a public meeting via teleconference on July 16. Those wishing to participate or make comments must notify the ITA by July 8.

The TFAC serves as the principal advisory body to the Department of Commerce on policy matters relating to access to trade finance for U.S. exporters, including small and medium-sized enterprises, and their foreign buyers. It is composed of stakeholders from the trade finance industry and the U.S. exporting community as well as experts from academia and public policy organizations.

At the upcoming meeting members are expected to discuss possible recommendations on policies and programs that can increase awareness of, and expand access to, export financing resources for U.S. exporters.
