First U.S.-China Joint IPR Operation Nets Nearly 250,000 Counterfeit Products

U.S. Customs and Border Protection and China’s General Administration of Customs announced July 31 that their first-ever joint intellectual property rights enforcement operation resulted in the seizure of over 243,000 counterfeit consumer electronics products. According to CBP, the month-long operation fulfilled a commitment to cooperatively produce tangible IPR enforcement results by the fifth Strategic & Economic Dialogue, which was held in July. The two agencies committed at that event to further cooperation on IPR enforcement, including additional joint operations.
