Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has set forth the schedule for its review of the eligibility of India, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan for benefits under the Generalized System of Preferences. USTR initiated this review based on concerns about these countries’ compliance with GSP requirements, including market access for India in the dairy and medical device sectors, market access and services and investment for Indonesia, and worker rights for Kazakhstan.

The GSP Subcommittee of the Trade Policy Staff Committee will convene a public hearing on these reviews June 19. Comments, pre-hearing briefs, and requests to appear at the hearing are due by June 5, while post-hearing briefs are due by July 17.
