Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board is accepting comments through Dec. 17 on the following requests.

- Tunica County, grantee of FTZ 287, has requested subzone status for the Future Electronics Distribution Center L.P. facilities in Southaven, Miss. No authorization for production activity at these facilities has been requested at this time.

- Digi-Key Corporation has submitted a notification of proposed production activity for its facilities within FTZ 259 in Thief River Falls, Minn., which are used for light value-added production and kitting of cable connectors and small fans for electronics. The applicant indicates that it will be submitting a separate application for FTZ designation at these facilities under FTZ 259.

- Joyson Safety Systems Acquisition LLC has submitted a notification of proposed production activity for its facility in Moses Lake, Wash. JSSA already has authority to produce automotive airbag inflators and related propellants within subzone 203A and the current request would add foreign-status materials and components to the scope of authority. The request indicates that certain of these materials and components are subject to additional tariffs under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 and Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 depending on the country of origin.
