Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from the New Jersey Department of State, grantee of FTZ 44, a request for subzone status for the Ekornes Inc. facility in Somerset, N.J. Comments on this request are due no later than Oct. 23. No authorization for production activity has been requested at this time.

The FTZ Board has approved an expansion of production under zone procedures at the MSD International GMBH (Puerto Rico Branch) LLC (Pharmaceuticals) facility in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. MSD already had authority to produce certain pharmaceutical products within subzone 7G and the FTZ Board has now added a finished pharmaceutical product and a foreign status material/component to the scope of authority.

The FTZ Board has approved an expansion of production under zone procedures at the Mead Johnson & Company LLC dba Mead Johnson Nutritional facilities within subzone 43B in Zeeland, Mich. Mead Johnson already had authority to produce infant formula and nutritional products in this subzone, subject to a restriction requiring all foreign-origin dairy products admitted to the subzone to be reexported (sugar is of domestic origin), and the FTZ Board has now added a foreign-status material (lactose) to the scope of authority.
