FTZ Board Approves Production, New and Expanded Subzones

Production Requests. The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has authorized production under zone procedures at the Superior Weighting Products LLC facility within FTZ 122 in Corpus Christi, Texas, which will be used to process raw barite into ground barite and to further process calcium carbonate (limestone) and bentonite.

The FTZ Board has authorized an expansion of production under zone procedures at the voestalpine Texas LLC facility within FTZ 122 in Portland, Texas. Voestalpine already had authority to produce hot briquetted iron using foreign-sourced iron ore pellets within subzone 122T and the Board has now added hot briquetted iron byproducts and foreign-status materials/components to the scope of authority.

New Subzones. The FTZ Board has approved the establishment of subzone 163G at the Caribe Rx Services Inc. facility in Caguas, Puerto Rico; subzone 163H at the R. Ortiz Auto Distributors Inc. facility in Caguas; and subzone 163I at the Destileria Serralles Inc. facility in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Expanded Subzone. The FTZ Board has approved a request on behalf of Mead Johnson & Company LLC (doing business as Mead Johnson Nutrition) to remove site 4 and add a site 5 within subzone 43B in Zeeland, Mich.
