FTZ Board Approves Production and Reorganization Requests, Considers Other Actions
Pharmaceutical Products. The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from Bristol-Myers Squibb Holdings Pharma Ltd. a notification of proposed production activity for its facility in Manati, Puerto Rico, within subzone 7J. BMS already has authority to produce certain pharmaceutical products within subzone 7J and the current request would add finished products and foreign status materials/components to the scope of authority. Comments are due no later than April 24.
Automatic Transmissions Facility. The FTZ Board has approved a notification of proposed production activity submitted by ZF Transmissions Gray Court LLC for its facilities in Gray Court, South Carolina, within FTZ 38. Gray Court already had authority to produce automatic transmissions for motor vehicles within Sites 20 and 25 of FTZ 38 and the current request adds finished products and foreign status materials/components to the scope of authority.
Tennessee Zone Expansion. The FTZ Board has approved an application filed by the Northwest Tennessee Regional Port Authority, grantee of FTZ 283, requesting authority to reorganize this zone to expand its service area. The zone currently has a service area that includes Dyer, Gibson, Haywood, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, Obion, and Tipton counties and the applicant requested authority to add Fayette, Hardeman, and McNairy counties, adjacent to the Memphis U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry.
Subzone Expansion. The City of Battle Creek, grantee of FTZ 43, is requesting to expand subzone 43B on behalf of Mead Johnson & Company LLC (doing business as Mead Johnson Nutrition), located in Zeeland, Michigan. The applicant is requesting authority to remove site 4 and add a new site, proposed site 5. No additional authorization for production activity has been requested at this time.
