Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received from the Richland-Lexington Airport District, Columbia Metropolitan Airport, grantee of FTZ 127, a notification of proposed production activity at the Constantia Blythewood LLC facility in Blythewood, S.C. This facility is used for the production of flexible packaging, engineered industrial films, and related items for the food, beverage, and personal care industries. Comments on this notification are due no later than Oct. 15.

Production under FTZ procedures could exempt Constantia from customs duty payments on the foreign-status components used in export production. Constantia would also be able to avoid duty on foreign-status components that become scrap or waste and could defer or reduce customs duties on foreign-status production equipment.
